I’m off the grid and so is my HVAC

Well, I did it.

I wasn’t sure that I really could manage it, but I did.

It took years of planning and executing those plans. But, I am now living in a small house way, way out in nature. I mean I am so far out that the electrical grid is not something I can attach to. However, this was by design. I have never been one to work at an office, come home for cocktails in the HVAC and then do it all over again. My life has been a different one filled with challenges and adventure. This new chapter will be chock full of both. My small home is plenty for me and hopefully a partner if that is in the cards. I am able to power my little place with a combination of active and passive solar. This array took me a long time to afford as did the material for the house. But, now I am super comfortable way out here on my own. I even have HVAC in my place. There is a ductless heating and cooling unit that I put in myself. I have to be judicious with it but, it’s plenty of heat and cool for me. My house is up in the trees so the solar array has great access to the sun. That means that I rarely have to limit the HVAC or any other electrical device. I even have satellite internet as well. Who thought you could ever live off the grid with modern conveniences like internet and HVAC?
