Late to the gig
I am a DJ for weddings and I operate solely on my own.
But last year I had hired an assistant in the event something happened to where I was late for a gig, he could take my place until I arrived. I was so glad I did this looking back, because just the other day I had a gig and I was forced to be late! The reason was that my central heating and air conditioning system broke down and I had to wait for the local heating and cooling company to send out one of their certified heat and a/c specialists. They were running late as it was and did not show up within the time window that they had given to me. When I seen what was going on and how the heating and air conditioning company was going to be late causing me to be late to my wedding gig, I called my assistant to get there and start playing the music until I arrived. It was a win/win situation all around. Had I not had my assistant, I would have been in deep trouble and possibly ruined my business by being late for something like a wedding! These heating and air conditioning companies really need to get their acts together when it comes to arriving on time to an HVAC repair appointment if you ask me. Maybe in the future I will deal with independent heating and air conditioning contractors. From what I hear they are more personable and always on time. HVAC companies just can not compete.
