Water around central a/c and water on floor of basement

In the morning I try to wake my teenagers up an hour before my pal and I have to leave. My two teenagers are not morning people at all. It takes them at least a half hour just to get dressed because they mosey around and complain about how they do not want to go to school. There been a few times where their laziness and no motivation of going to school will make me late to work! One morning I was extremely late to work because the didn’t get ready fast enough and when I went downstairs to the basement I saw excess water puddling near the a/c unit, that is not supposed to be there. Normally our a/c component will drain out to a drain in his basement. But for some reason there was more water than normal. I do not know a whole ton about heating and cooling so I decided to use one of my emergency service calls from my Heating and Air Conditioning specialist. He came within twenty minutes later, then when he took a look at it he believed that the drain pan for the a/c evaporator coil was overflowing due to some kind of blockage. This was what was causing me a little bit more water in my basement than normal. The Heating and Air Conditioning specialist used r long wire that he got out of his van to clear out the blockage that was supposively near the mouth of the drain pipe. It seems to be that that was the issue because it’s been a few mornings and my pal and I have not seen as much water as my pal and I did that morning.
