Typical HVAC problems

The other day I wanted to get my HVAC system checked out and inspected to make sure that it was free of any damaging particles or typical HVAC problems.

I wanted to learn more about my HVAC system so when my HVAC technician was at my house doing some maintenance work to my HVAC system I asked him a few questions.

One of them was to know what were some typical HVAC problems that I would potentially experience down the road and if those problems ever did occur I could acknowledge what I should and shouldn’t get worked up over. I was told from my HVAC technician that I would always pretty much encounter dirty air filters. But I should change out my air filters every 3 months. I could also experience a blockage in any of the drain lines if there was an overflow of the drain pan. There could potentially also be blown fuses from a breaker as well. There’s normally always low refrigerant if your air conditioning system is older. Also potential electrical problems due to faulty wiring or worn out contractors due to power outages. There’s also been a case where there have been obstructive air returns or clogged air filters that can obstruct normal and efficient air flow in some homeowner’s systems. And occasionally a thermostat can be the cause of an air conditioning system to stop working due to needing replacement or new batteries. I was happy to learn about this information as it did not seem as serious of a problem if it ever did happen to me in the future.
