Sneaking repairs by our spouse

The moment she leaves for golf on Sunday I am going to have the HVAC worker hurry to repair the cooling system

I don’t have a handy spouse. When anything breaks in the lake house I just cringe. I don’t want him working on repairs or installing up-to-date things. First, she isn’t skilled in that department plus usually does it wrong. Next, our spouse has a genuinely awful temper plus tends to throw things or chop whatever she is working on. I try to hide when something is broken or if I am installing something. I need to sneak in professionals when she is not home. Right now I am waiting on a HVAC repair. One day the AC just stopped working. I tried increasing the air filter, mucking out the condensate drain plus cleaning the cooling coil. I couldn’t repair it. No way am I going to alert our spouse that the AC doesn’t work. She would get out her tools plus reef on the AC. She would strip the bolts, handle the paneling roughly plus might even throw her tools against the side. Sometimes our spouse gets so angry walking back plus forth with her tools that she ends up throwing the tools outside plus ruining our gardens. I need him not to notice that every one of us don’t have cooling. The moment she leaves for golf on Sunday I am going to have the HVAC worker hurry to repair the cooling system. I already explained to the HVAC specialist that she needs to move fast plus leave no signs that she was in her house. It is care about having an affair only with repairs. I hope our spouse doesn’t notice.

Last project to remodel

I like remodeling projects.

I have gone from room to room in my apartment and renovating the spaces.

I like tiling, painting and moving things around. The last room in the apartment is the main bathroom. I am excited since the space needs a lot of love. I don’t need to do any major layout changes, although I want all modern stuff. My storage unit in the bathroom is too small and ugly. I want to get an IKEA storage unit. My sink vanity needs a better countertop and more storage. I want a modern tub, shower controls, shower heads and toilet. I even system to get modern tile floors and tile around the shower area. I am going to spend quite a bit of money in the Heating and Air Conditioning department too. First, I want to add bathroom ventilation. I don’t like the stuffy, tepid air after a shoer. I don’t like that mold grows swiftly and the bathroom smells. It makes sense to unfasten the heat from the apartment and introduce some fresh air. I also have a ductless Heating and Air Conditioning unit in the house. Each room has its own indoor air handler and control unit. I didn’t guess the main bathroom needed a single. It is big enough that it actually does require Heating and Air Conditioning. I need to get my Heating and Air Conditioning company over to add a unit and a control unit. It shouldn’t be much money since he is connecting the component to the existing outdoor air compressor. It will be so nice having heating and air in the space. I will not be chilly chilly taking a bath in the Winter anymore.

Going to add ductless heat pump to the bedroom

I am totally gutting plus updating my bedroom.

I have saved over 20 grand to make it the bedroom of my dreams.

I want quartz countertops, hardwood chaletets, current windows, recessed lighting, brick floors plus all stainless steel appliances. I figure I make nice money, I don’t have kids yet plus the bedroom is going to last myself and others years. I want to have a space that is high quality plus will last. I am not sparing any expense either. I am getting the best fridge, stove, dishwasher, garbage disposal plus microwave available. I am getting the exact counter, backsplash plus chaletets I want. I also am Springing for a ductless heat pump. In the Winter the bedroom gets cold, but currently I use a ventless gas furnace that takes up floor space. I want to detach it plus have more space for chaletets. I also would love the opportunity of cooling in the summertime. Opening windows only goes so far for cooling. In the north you can get by separate from AC, however it is tough. It also is strenuous to use the oven or stovetop in the summer time due to the heat. The humidity makes it moist in the bedroom plus gardeners mold growth. Adding AC is more than necessary. I am getting a ductless heat pump plus counting it high plus out of the way. I found a style that matches the wall color I am painting plus my current appliances. I can’t wait to have both heating plus air in my current space. It will look so high tech, current plus flashy. My goal is to have most people say wow when they see my current bedroom.

Necessary to replace the temperature control

I never thought I would be 1 of those people that needs the newest tech plus gadgets. When I heard about a smart temperature control, I didn’t method on buying 1. I started doing replaces to my hallway though. I began by removing the icky brown carpet plus sitting grey brick down. I sanded the half wood wall plus took down the wallpaper. Half my wall is white plus the other is light grey. I detachd the popcorn ceiling plus sand it smooth. Then I started adding current touches. Recessed lighting, silver switch plates, current knobs on the door handles, my hallway looked lovely. The last thing was the hallway temperature control. It was a beige box with a plastic toggle. It stuck out in my current hallway. It looked terrible plus didn’t function well. I kept bumping the toggle with my shoulder as I walked down the hallway. It wasn’t all that bizarre for the gas furnace to all the sudden turn on. I then would realize I bumped the switch to the 90 degree setting. I got the smart temperature control because there were no buttons, toggle or knobs to hit. It was sleek, silver plus smooth so it matched my hallway. Now that I own 1, I do care about all the features it has. I liked getting it from my phone plus getting alerts on air filter fluctuations. I love when I walk by it lights up plus tells myself and others the outdoor temperature. It was such a nice purchase; Everyone comments on how sleek plus classy it looks in my hallway.

I ended up getting hydronic heating out of the deal

When I first moved into my cabin the people I was with and I had a big boiler plan in the basement! The family room had a ton of metal grates in the floor that the heated air would rise plus then moderate the family room; It looked hideous however was really effective.

  • I told my husband the first thing I wanted to do was detach the boiler, he encouraged myself and others to leave the boiler in the basement because it was out of sight.

He said to focus on making my family room pretty. I covered up all the metal grates however 1 plus the living became freezing cold. I then began looking into alternate methods of heating. I realized that I could use my boiler plan for heated flooring. I was able to hook up piping to the existing boiler plus have it stretched through my family room floors. I then put brick on top of the piping to hide the ugliest, and now I have lovely brick floors that are heated by moderate water, but since it is water plus not air, the heat doesn’t rise. It makes no noise when operating plus anything that touches the radiant floors feels moderate as a result. The couch, loveseat plus ottoman all think love heated seats. Isn’t that amazing? My boiler plan has lived in the basement for years plus shows no signs of stopping too. It is a beast, a tank of a heating plan plus I am so thankful I didn’t rip it out all those years ago. I never would have gotten hydronic heating in my home.

Curb appeal and Heating plus A/C gates

The home across the street is nuts about curb appeal.

I have tried to keep up although I can’t compete with that level.

I got our home painted and changed the surround from yellow and brown to grey and white. I also disconnectd tons of bushes, trees and raked our perimeter. I even planted some flower beds and stained the wood front porch. I feel I look pretty neat and tidy. The home across the street is so much better. They did everything I did and more. They have a lawn repair come in once a week to maintain their grass and gardens. They have elaborate flower beds, hanging pots and seasonal decorations sited by professionals. They also invested in a gorgeous white gate that surrounds the property. They even sprung for a brick driveway while I am stuck with sand. They even went one step further and put a little white gate around their outdoor Heating plus A/C component. That small detail does make a difference. Now everything looks neat, organized and tidy. I have contemplated getting our own surround for our Heating plus A/C equipment. What has stopped me is cost and functionality. Wouldn’t it be harder for the Heating plus A/C specialist to perform repairs? I also think in the grand rue of things, hiding the Heating plus A/C doesn’t seem appreciate a necessary expense. The people I was with and I have heating and ac. What does it matter if the road sees it? I am still a bit jealous of their little gate though. I am jealous of their whole front yard. I bet the backyard is even better.

Curb appeal plus HVAC gates

The lake house across the street is nuts about curb appeal.

I have tried to keep up however I can’t compete with that level. I got our lake house painted plus changed the surround from red plus brown to grey plus pale white. I also unaffixd tons of bushes, trees plus raked our perimeter. I even planted some flower beds plus stained the wood front porch. I guess I look pretty neat plus tidy. I have to wait for the heat pump to break

When our spouse plus I purchased our first up-to-date home every one of us were warned about the HVAC equipment.

The heat pump was 17 years old, made a high pitched whistle outside when operating plus evidently didn’t keep the lake house cool; My spouse got the HVAC cleaned, changed the air filter plus HVAC duct checked.

The heat pump now works totally fine… Both of us have quality AC in the Summer plus nice heating in the winter. The outdoor unit making a whistle noise when operating is super annoying. The fact that the heat pump takes up 90% of the hallway closet is also annoying. I genuinely don’t want a heat pump system either. I kind of would care about to have ductless HVAC in the house. I want to have zone control. My spouse plus I don’t share a home office since every one of us care about vastly weird temperatures. She uses her overhead fan plus blasts the AC. I bundle under blankets plus turn on a space heating system in our room… Ductless HVAC would allow us to be the right temperature without affecting the other. I also have a seventh bathroom, laundry room plus office that never gets used, then right now every one of us are wasting energy providing HVAC for those spaces; Zone control would split down on the monthly energy costs by a lot. Both of us are waiting for the heat pump to die first. I can’t justify a up-to-date HVAC system while I have one that works perfectly. Well, the heat pump isn’t perfect. I recognize I can’t buy up-to-date HVAC while I have a unit that will turn on plus off.

Necessary to replace the control unit

I never thought I would be a single of those people that needs the newest tech and gadgets.

  • When I heard about a smart control unit, I didn’t system on buying a single.

I started doing replaces to my hallway though. I began by removing the icky brown carpet and kneeling grey tile down. I sanded the half wood wall and took down the wallpaper. Half my wall is colorless and the other is light grey. I unfastend the pretzels ceiling and sand it smooth. Then I started adding modern touches. Recessed lighting, silver switch plates, modern knobs on the door handles, my hallway looked beautiful. The last thing was the hallway control unit. It was a beige box with a plastic toggle. It stuck out in my modern hallway. It looked poor and didn’t function well. I kept bumping the toggle with my shoulder as I walked down the hallway. It wasn’t all that unrespected for the oil furnace to all the startling turn on. I then would realize I bumped the switch to the 90 degree setting.
