My HVAC was having some serious problems and I tried everything to fix it.

I am an HVAC technician, so usually I can fix any problem I have with my central air conditioner or furnace, but this time, my central air conditioner was unfixable.

I checked the air filters and the coolant and several other parts to the central air conditioner, but I just couldn’t figure out what Was wrong. My smart thermostat, which can usually diagnose any problems in my central air conditioner and furnace, didn’t say anything was wrong with my central air conditioner. Since my central air conditioner was blowing out luke warm air, I figured that it was a problem with the coolant, but there was nothing there. I went to the heating and cooling business and bought a few new parts for my central air conditioner that I thought were getting old and needed replacing, but this didn’t help either. I finally gave up and asked a few HVAC technicians from my work if they had any idea what was wrong with my central air conditioner. My friends gave me some good advice and tips, and one of them came over to my house to help me take apart my central air conditioner. It took us three hours, but we finally found the problem with the central air conditioner. It was just a loose wire! The next day I went to the heating and cooling business and purchased some new wires for my central air conditioner because I found a few that were bitten through by muce! I was glad to have my central air conditioner working again.

I’ve never undoubtedly been the most skilled when it comes to anything.

So when I eventually got a place of my own to live in after I moved out of our parents’ house, I was in for a taxing time.

I rapidly had to go out and learn how to keep up with everything around the house. I Those things weren’t even so taxing though to be honest. The annoying things that undoubtedly distraught myself and others was when there were unexpected troubles with the plumbing or the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C system. I called the nearest Heating, Ventilation plus A/C immediately whenever I had any troubles such as this. When I first was having troubles with the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C system, the local property owner asked myself and others if I changed the air filter to the massive Heating, Ventilation plus A/C unit. Because I didn’t do that, I apologized & simply made sure to get right on that air filter change. Unblessedly, I did not understand anything about increasing air filters or how important they are for the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C systems in your home. I ended up getting the cheapest air filters I could find & hoped that they would do the job alright. When I subsequently had troubles with the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C unit, I eventually said I was swapping the air filters always. When the property owner had an Heating, Ventilation plus A/C business come over to check it out, she was saying how the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C equipment was clearly having troubles because of the cheap air filters I was using.

 

Cooling technician

For a super long phase of time, I lived in a lake house with a bunch of roommates.

It was always a highly lovely time with our roommates as the people I was with and I had our own made up ridiculous drinking games & things such as that.

Unblessedly, the people I was with and I always had a bunch of troubles. Sometimes the group of people I was with and I had troubles with the plumbing in the house & occasionally the lot of people I was with and I had troubles with the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C system. I feel like I would always call the building repair woman to take care of these troubles. I was basically always a bit aggravated because she seemed enjoy she never wanted to repair anything that we needed help with. Of course, it was her job & I made sure she knew to do her job. I suppose she honestly was just aggravated that something was always splitting around the place, and I get that. I easily suppose if the proprietor wasn’t such a cheapskate & hired real HVAC professionals to take care of things, there wouldn’t be so many troubles. The poor repair woman was able to get things fixed on a temporary basis it seemed; Nothing in the house would ever last & that’s something that undoubtedly bothered myself and others over the years. I seriously also suppose that she updated outdated Heating, Ventilation plus A/C parts with cheap units that would only last a few years at the most, but a real Heating, Ventilation plus A/C business hire would have used genuine parts that are easily designed to last for a long time. Now, regardless of all the troubles, I still had a superb time over the years with our roommates and I still keep in touch with them to this afternoon.

Have you ever felt absolutely powerless? Well, I remember having that exact feeling while in the Winter time season a few years ago.

It undoubtedly was our own fault – to be clear – because I failed to get the tune-up done for our furnace.

I thought just swapping out the air filters always would be enough, although I was dead wrong. Both of us got into the holiday season & it was on Christmas when our furnace failed altogether. I can’t tell you how bad this stupid experience was. I even tried to call for emergency Heating, Ventilation plus A/C services all over town, although I was not able to get a hold of anybody, and do you have any idea how ridiculously taxing it is to get a hold of anybody that is open on Christmas Day? Let myself and others stop now and just say that I had the worst Christmas ever, but at least I don’t have a hoard of children or a family who had to suffer because of our negligence. I tell you what, if I somehow do ever have a family in the future, I will try better to never pass up on important Heating, Ventilation plus A/C system repair. That’s an extreme lesson that I acquired so long ago & I was cold the whole afternoon. The only great thing I actually had going for myself and others was the fact that I had plenty of blankets in our house, & I even had a little portable oil furnace to help myself and others try to keep warm. It clearly was absolutely cold in the house, although I stayed in our room & I prayed that the indoor pipes wouldn’t freeze.

Sometimes I look at my husband and I wonder how anybody can be so dense.

He’s normally a very intelligent and intuitive human being, but there are times when I feel like his masculinity stops him from making good decisions.

This was definitely the case when he went out and purchased a brand-new pickup truck, rather than a family vehicle. He also has invested in a large set of tools that he never uses because he is not nearly as handy as he wants to be. Of course, he should have kept this in mind when he decided he was going to attempt to repair our central heating system on his own. To be clear, my husband doesn’t know the first thing about heating, cooling, or ventilation systems. He has never been in a heating and cooling repair course. He has never assisted with the installation, diagnostics, or maintenance of a modern indoor air temperature control plan. He probably doesn’t even know how to use the central thermostat without help. But the other day, my husband deduced that he was the man for the job when our forced air furnace stopped working. I tried to talk him out of the furnace repair disaster, but he would not hear it. He simply held up the owners manual for the 10 year old heating device and shook it in my face. It’s adorable that he thinks an instruction manual is the only difference between himself and an HVAC technician. It was less adorable when he broke our central heating system and needed stitches.

I’m definitely not the type of person who you would consider very lucky.

I know that luck is a human construct and a lot of us create our own fortune…

But I have not done a good job cultivating mine. If anything can go wrong in my life, it will. I have tried to be positive and wish for the best, but I still have a lot of unwelcome problems. That’s why I was very surprised when I actually won a local raffle hosted by our community Lion’s club. I never expected to win a single thing, so you can imagine my surprise when they told me that I got one of the top prizes. I was honestly hoping that I would be the recipient of the year-long heating, cooling, and air quality control service contract being offered by our local indoor air quality control repair shop. I personally used this heating, cooling, and ventilation dealership for all of my furnace and air conditioning concerns already. I know that their certified indoor air temperature control specialists are knowledgeable and trustworthy when it comes to my energy efficient indoor air handling devices. I really enjoy using the services provided by this air temperature control equipment repair shop, but they are rather expensive. That’s right… I actually felt disappointed when I found out that I won a brand new boat. Sure, my family and I could enjoy a cool dip on a hot and humid day once in a while, but I think we would enjoy a high-quality air conditioning system more. I’m not sure if the other raffle winner is willing to trade, but I would like to take their heating, cooling, and air quality control service contract.

Despite my attempt to save the furnace, the time has finally come for me to replace it.

I did everything I could to salvage it and held out as long as I could, but my HVAC specialist told me that it’s time for a new one.

I was experiencing issues with my furnace every other week and it was requiring a lot of attention. I was paying more for the repairs and labor. It would be cheaper for me to buy a new furnace instead of paying for the biweekly maintenance. Even though the HVAC specialist told me to start saving for a new furnace months ago, I neglected to do it. I had no idea that the furnace would fail so quickly. I assumed that it would be a gradual process and that I’d know when to start putting money aside. After the first repair, the furnace declined so quickly. I admitted this to the HVAC specialist, and he told me that it was a common problem to have. Thankfully, most hardware stores offered free installation and a payment plan for the actual equipment. This was music to my ears. I went to the local hardware store and asked them about their payment plans and found one with zero interest for a year. This seemed like a great deal because I was confident that I’d be able to pay off my new furnace before the year was up. I even got them to install it for free! I’m really glad my HVAC specialist recommended this route to me.

When I purchased my house, I forgot to ask the previous owners how old the HVAC system was.

I searched the house for paperwork on the HVAC system, but I couldn’t find anything.

I even tried contacting the previous owners just so I could ask them. They never got back to me about it. When I looked at the outside unit, I could tell that it wasn’t brand new. It looked worn and aged, but I didn’t know how to pinpoint an age range. I called an HVAC professional and asked them to come service the equipment because I wasn’t sure how long ago it had been looked at. When I asked the HVAC professional if he could tell me how old the HVAC equipment was, he showed me where to find the age. Located on the outside cabinet of the AC unit, there were a bunch of numbers detailing the HVAC system’s technical information. If I looked closely at the information listed, I could see the manufacturers date. When I looked at the date listed, it was from over 12 years ago! The HVAC professional told me that it was an older system that would need replaced soon. When he was done servicing the HVAC system, he told me that it was still running well, but there was no telling how it would hold up in extreme temperatures. He recommended that I start saving for a new HVAC system just in case. He also said that if the equipment started needing repairs often, it was better to replace it right away rather than wait.

I never knew how much I needed my air conditioning until I was left without it.

I’d gone out of town for a business trip and when I returned, the AC wasn’t working. Unfortunately, I didn’t get home until later in the evening. None of the local HVAC companies were open. Instead, I called the emergency line for one of the HVAC companies I’d done business with in the past and told them about my situation. I know I sounded really desperate, because it was 80 degrees outside and I had no AC. The guy on the phone assured me that I’d be the first house they visited in the morning. That night was one of the worst nights of my life and I don’t even know why I tried sleeping. I turned on the ceiling fan above my bed, but it didn’t help much. All it did was push around the hot and humid air. I even opened the windows and prayed for a nice breeze to come through. The air was stagnant. By the time 8am rolled around, I was anxiously waiting for the HVAC technician to show up at my house. I opened the door and the HVAC technician could tell that I hadn’t slept. He jokingly commented on the bags under my eyes and assured me that he’d get my AC system up and running again. I was grateful when I could finally feel the cool air coming through the air vents. I fell asleep as soon as the HVAC technician left.

When the HVAC technician told us that it was time to replace our furnace along with two outside units, we were really hesitant.

It wasn’t because we didn’t have the finances for it, because we’d been saving for months.

Our furnace was 15 years old, so we knew the replacement was coming, which gave us plenty of time to save. We were hesitant to replace our furnace and outside units because of the mess. When my parents had their furnace replaced the year prior, we saw the destruction that took place. The HVAC technicians tracked in so much dirt, mud, and debri that there were permanent stains on the carpet. My husband and I had to go help my parents clean their house and it took weeks. We rented a carpet cleaner in an attempt to get the stains out and it still didn’t take them out completely. There were screws and nails left on the floor, which was a huge safety hazard for my old parents. We didn’t hire the same HVAC company to install our furnace and new outside units and I’m so glad we didn’t. Before we hired anyone, we asked them a series of questions about how they were going to handle the mess. Ultimately, we ended up paying more for a company that assured us the mess would be properly maintained and cleaned up. They were worth every penny, because they put down drop cloths and wore paper booties on their shoes. Not an ounce of dirt was left on our floors when they were done.
