Air conditioning increases productivity at work

There are many good benefits of air conditioner. Some benefits are way more blatant than others. The fact that air conditioner keeps you cool is the most blatant plus simple benefit. There are other benefits like preventing heat related illness, decreasing humidity, helping with flu symptoms plus even helping with asthma. Increasing work productivity is a benefit of air conditioner that many people don’t recognize of. I will paint you a picture of why people are more productive at work in cool environments! When you are in a heated environment, like a home with a furnace turned on or sitting in front of a fireplace, your body automatically wants to relax! Our brains buddy feelings of warmth with feelings of comfort plus relaxation. Even being in the tepid sun makes you slow down a bit. That is why people often fall asleep at the beach as the sun heats their body. When you are in a cool indoor environment, you are less likely to want to relax, making you more productive. I recently study a learn about more than one office buildings. One of the office buildings did not turn their air conditioner on (this was a 76 degree day outside) plus the other office building turned their central air conditioner on to 74 degrees. The workflow of the employees that day showed that the employees in the building with central air conditioner were 90% more productive than the employees in the building with no air conditioner. The conclusion stated that the employees of the non-air conditioned building were hot, uncomfortable plus overall felt more lazy than the employees of the air conditioned building.
