There was a huge mixup with a false HVAC coupon

My boss offered me a written warning on Sunday morning because I offered a client an unauthorized sale price; and I’m still aggravated in addition to being ticked off about the entire situation.

I went out to the country on Sunday to install a furnace for one of our residential heating, ventilation plus A/C buyers.

I was with the client for many hours, and after the furnace was installed, the client presented me with a coupon! The coupon appeared to be real in addition to our heating, ventilation plus A/C contractor logo in addition to the office phone number appearing on the front. I tried to call my boss, but I didn’t have any cell reception at all. I even tried to call the office, however the cell service was spotty. The client offered to let me use her iPhone, but I didn’t want to take any options due to social distancing. I couldn’t get anyone on the cell phone to confirm the sale price, so I decided to go ahead and discount the repair. I thought it was easier to give the client a discount then lose the sale altogether. I absolutely thought my boss was going to be ecstatic with the decision that I made, although he brought me into the office on Sunday morning in addition to telling me that I should have made a better decision. The coupon was fake in addition to the two of us losing $96 because I offered the client a 10% discount for free. I entirely guess that my boss was overreacting, especially since he can contact the client in addition to take it up with them. I would never say that to his face though. After all, this is the guy who signs his name to my paychecks.
