My brother should still be alive
It was a real devastating day when I learned that my brother died due to a faulty HVAC system.
- It was the HVAC system in his apartment building.
He kept reporting issues to the building supervisor, but they kept saying that his HVAC system was fine. He was experiencing headaches and he felt light headed. He knew there was something wrong with the HVAC because he felt better when he would leave the apartment. When there was a brutal snowstorm and he wasn’t able to go anywhere due to a driving ban, unfortunately he had to stay cooped up in his apartment with the faulty HVAC system. It was really cold so he had to crank up the heating system. The last I heard from him, he called me up and said he wasn’t feeling well. I told him he should get to the hospital, but there was a driving ban because of all the snow. When the driving ban was finally lifted, everybody tried to get a hold of my brother but he would not answer the phone. When we finally got to his house, we had to have the building supervisor open his door. We found him dead in his bed and we learned the carbon monoxide levels in the apartment were at deadly levels. The place had to be vented out and we had to have the funeral for my brother. We are planning on suing the owner of the apartment building for not fixing the HVAC system as per the multiple requests of my brother. This should never happen to anybody!
