No more strange noises coming from the walls
Recently my sister called me up and asked me if I could come over to see her new apartment.
I thought everything looked great and then she brought up the fact that she was hearing strange scratching noises in the walls.
She was worried that something was running around in the ductwork, so I had a look at some of the HVAC vents with her. Most of the HVAC vents seemed to be just fine, but there was this one in particular that looked damaged. It wasn’t fully secured and there was a small area where rodents could have easily gotten into the ductwork. I told her that she needed to get a hold of the building supervisor and get this taken care of. I personally didn’t want to deal with rodents, and she was freaked out by the very idea of having rodents in her new place. She reached out to the building supervisor and had the repair guy show up to fix the HVAC vent. He also opened up the HVAC vent and peered inside and saw there were mice droppings in there. He said there definitely was a rodent problem and he had to call for a rodent exterminator. They were able to get all of the rodents and then the repair man cleaned out the ductwork system. After that, he secured the HVAC vent and said everything was as good as new. He said to let him know if there were anymore troubles in the future. My sister is very glad that the problem was handled and since she has not been hearing strange noises coming from the walls.
