The HVAC system at our office is broken
I work in a really large law firm downtown, and we have just recently opened back up since all of the shutdowns last year.
It’s been really crazy to try and adapt to working from home and then back to the office environment again.
One of the best parts of working from home was the fact that I could set the heating and cooling system to whatever temperature I wanted it to be, whenever I felt like it. Whenever I was working at the office downtown, there always seemed like there was something going wrong with the HVAC system in the building. I remember feeling sorry for the building maintenance guy in the building, because people were constantly complaining to him about the air conditioning being turned down too low in the summer or up too high. And then, of course, in the winter, people complained to him about the heating being set too low or too high, too. He just couldn’t please everyone all of the time and I know that it was stressful for him. When I was working at home, I didn’t have to worry about any of that, though. It was nice to be able to keep the temperature settings at home wherever I wanted them and I could adjust the heating or the A/C whenever I happened to feel like it. Now, though, we are back to work in the office building and it’s right back to the way it used to be. I would have thought that the building owners would have had the HVAC unit upgraded during all of that time that we weren’t working, but I guess that was just wishful thinking on my part.
