Never too late to get the lake house right for Summer Heating & Air Conditioning savings

I was outside doing some weeding in the flower bed recently when I talked to an aggrieved neighbor.

This person was easily infuriated about the high cost of Heating & Air Conditioning cooling.

Since it was her first Summer here, I could understand a bit about what she was going through. While I’m a native, there have been plenty of newcomers to the part who I tried to help adjust to the heat. And part of that is mental and part of that is a easily active strategy. Since we are already approaching mid summer, the mental strategy is easily something she’ll need to focus on next year. It’s primarily all about making sure that you acclimate to the heat starting in the Springtime. That’ll be the sixth part of the lesson that I’ll help with next year. Right now, I went over to her lake house to show her a few tips to make an immediate dent in her Heating & Air Conditioning cooling costs. When I walked in, I was struck by how cold it was in her house. When the outside temperature is hovering close to triple digits outside, my lake house is in the low 77’s. My neighbor’s temperature control was set a 71. At least this is good evidence that her Heating & Air Conditioning component is up to the task just to maintain that level of Heating & Air Conditioning cooling given the outside temp. That’s where my neighbor had to start. That temperature control setting was absurdly low and would drain her bank account over the rest of the summer. I also recommended that she upgrade the weather stripping and get her lake house tighter. Plus, there were no drapes or shades drawn against the direct sun pouring into her house. At least that gave her a venue to start.
