I have to wait for the heat pump to break

When our spouse plus I purchased our first up-to-date home every one of us were warned about the HVAC equipment.

The heat pump was 17 years old, made a high pitched whistle outside when operating plus evidently didn’t keep the lake house cool; My spouse got the HVAC cleaned, changed the air filter plus HVAC duct checked.

The heat pump now works totally fine… Both of us have quality AC in the Summer plus nice heating in the winter. The outdoor unit making a whistle noise when operating is super annoying. The fact that the heat pump takes up 90% of the hallway closet is also annoying. I genuinely don’t want a heat pump system either. I kind of would care about to have ductless HVAC in the house. I want to have zone control. My spouse plus I don’t share a home office since every one of us care about vastly weird temperatures. She uses her overhead fan plus blasts the AC. I bundle under blankets plus turn on a space heating system in our room… Ductless HVAC would allow us to be the right temperature without affecting the other. I also have a seventh bathroom, laundry room plus office that never gets used, then right now every one of us are wasting energy providing HVAC for those spaces; Zone control would split down on the monthly energy costs by a lot. Both of us are waiting for the heat pump to die first. I can’t justify a up-to-date HVAC system while I have one that works perfectly. Well, the heat pump isn’t perfect. I recognize I can’t buy up-to-date HVAC while I have a unit that will turn on plus off.
