HVAC challenge overcome thanks to HVAC technology

The fact that we were so anxious to have our own home may have led us to missing a few details.

For sure, we did the normal home inspection and all of that prior to closing.

This revealed that there would be some pretty serious renovations to make to the house in order for it to be the home we wanted it to be. A major challenge was the HVAC equipment. We knew going in that the HVAC unit was old and had to be replaced with a new residential HVAC unit. That’s something we budgeted for and were going to stay with the central air conditioning and simply add a new heat pump. There were other concerns that had to be addressed in our house as well. This led to our focus being a bit fractured. When we did get to the point where we were ready to have the HVAC unit replaced, we called the local HVAC company. The HVAC contractor came to our house and he was great. Before he did anything, the HVAC professional inspected the HVAC system. What he found was something we weren’t counting on. The ductwork would not pass inspection. It wouldn’t work with the new HVAC equipment and it had to be replaced. This was something that was way out of our budget and so we were unsure of what to do next. The HVAC contractor then suggested that we go with a ductless multi split system. Not only was this ductless heat pump idea within our budget, we didn’t have to go through the chaos of ripping out the ductwork and replacing it.
