Need garage for workspace, sellers sealed air vents in due diligence

Man, am I feeling hot under the collar right now. I hate when people take the liberty to “go above and beyond” when you haven’t asked them to. Sometimes, they actually take steps in the right direction and save you a lot of trouble with their extra effort… and sometimes there’s a very good reason why you didn’t mention a particular task, and they create a lot of extra work with their assumptions. I understand that there are usually good intentions behind these situations, but I have a hard time respecting people who don’t follow directions anyways. Let me tell you what’s going on. We are just now moving into a brand new house, and it turns out that the sellers have meddled with some important aspects of the HVAC system. Though they were trying to be responsible by making the heating and cooling system more energy efficient, the sellers have actually created a lot of time and energy expenditure for us instead. You see, when we looked at the place, we had a few questions about the heating and cooling system indoors. The top floor felt very hot and humid, the lower level was very cool and wet, and there were a few air vents that seemed inoperable. We requested that these issues were dealt with during due diligence, but we never expected them to take things up a notch and make permanent changes without our input. That’s how I wound up realizing that the sellers had gone into the garage, noticed the overhead air vents, and decided to permanently plug them up. They intended to provide extra indoor air quality control to the other spaces in this way… however, I intended to use those air vents in the garage to maintain comfortable air quality in my new workspace. I guess we’ll be buying a new HVAC system for the garage now. Thanks a lot guys.
