Saving money with less energy overall
These mornings my budget is not stretchy.
Prior to this I was able to live pretty freely with my salaried position.
I had free rent, & so I was able to spend all of my money on repaying student loans & pursuing some of my new hobbies, however, all superb things must come to an end. These mornings I am living on my own & I have a lot of expenses to consider each month – my heating & cooling is entirely one of them. I am staying in a small house where I have to cover all of the utility bills on my own, so one of my largest passion these mornings is finding new innovative ways to cut down on energy costs. Sometimes this means living a pretty straight-forward life, but honestly I don’t miss all of the perks that I used to spend on, and right now I am focused on lowering my utility bills as much as possible. I spend a lot of time alone in the dark. I also tend to keep the windows open so that I don’t have to use the Heating plus Air Conditioning system quite so often. I’ll be honest, it’s entirely hot out. There are some mornings that opening the windows feels like taking a plunge into the hot humid depths of Hell. However it’s still better than my aged living circumstances were. Even though I can’t run the A/C continually afternoon & night like I used to, I am still feeling a lot better. Maybe it’s due to the fresh air that I am letting in instead of running my a/c.
