Last year, our sister did something completely crazy, even for him! She found out that her job was going to be moving halfway across the country and instead of hiring a realtor and looking for a apartment once she moved out there, she decided to find a apartment online and buy it before she ever even saw it! This was the craziest thing that I had ever heard of, and I told him that I thought she was nuts for doing it. After all, who knows what you’re going to be getting if you’ve never even seen it before? My main problem for him buying this place was what the heating and cooling system was going to be like in the house; You can paint and recarpet if you don’t like the way a place looks, but updating and decreasing out an Heating, Ventilation & A/C system is a large pain and a giant undertaking, and i told him about our reservations, but our sister said that she wasn’t worried about the heating and cooling system at all. As a matter of fact, she said that the listing for the apartment said that the Heating, Ventilation & A/C system was a brand new, high efficiency heating and cooling system, but not only that, but the apartment had a built-in whole apartment whole-house air purifier that would run in tandem with the heating and cooling system every time that it came on, the only thing that she said that she would need to update was the temperature control unit, and that wasn’t genuinely that giant of a deal, but she prefers her house, so I guess it was a great thing that she did after all!

I entirely started our cleaning business before the pandemic, & it wasn’t going well.

There was too much competition, especially from Molly Maid franchisees, so the future looked grim.

Surprisingly, the COVID pandemic was a shot in the arm for our business, because demand for deep cleaning & disinfecting grew, & competition dwindled! I started to quietly promote myself on social media, & friends & neighbors started discretely hiring me to mask up & come clean their homes clean. I would make a home immaculate down to every nook & cranny, however there were still sites I could not reach. Since people were distraught about air quality, I realized that cleaning the outside of the air vents wasn’t enjoyable enough, however people needed to have full HVAC duct cleaning done, so I started reaching out to other small business owners to form a partnership, then when I was in a home that could rest to have the HVAC duct cleaned out, I could give the owners a business card for a local independent Heating, Ventilation, & A/C tech, all of the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C workers I spoke to loved the idea, however most of them didn’t offer me anything in return. I guess our purchasers deserve to have clean HVAC duct, however if I am going to hand out referrals I guess it’s fair to get something in return, right? Finally one of the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C dealers gave me a “finders fee” & any business I generated I would get some cash for. This way everyone wins, the dealer, me, & our purchasers, who get clean air ducts & superior air quality.

When Bess and I were planning our wedding, we both had the same way of thinking.

The wedding ceremony would be nice, but it’s entirely just a formality, right? What was the point of dumping thoUSnds of dollars into that? Both of us both agreed it was a much better use of our budget to have a moderate wedding and a killer honeymoon.

The honeymoon should be epic, and set a high bar for the rest of the marriage, so that’s where most of our budget went. A remote tropical island, easily few people, with an air conditioned beach house that had a full bar — it sounded perfect! Well the joke was almost on us, because the “full bar” was just a couple half empty bottles of rum, and the “air conditioned cabin” was a fishing shack with a portable cooler that jammed into the wall. I guess it was technically an air conditioner, but it was smaller than our partner’s purse, and only pushed out a weak, flaccid air flow. If the doors and windows for the study room were all closed, and the blinds drawn, then the AC unit could almost cool down the whole room. Both of us wouldn’t let something as trivial as an air conditioner or a wack bar derail our honeymoon, so we just made a quick trip back to town. Both of us found a liquor store for drinks, and another store that had odd kinds of portable units. To us it was well worth spending a couple hundred extra bucks for another air conditioner, just so we could care about ourselves fully!

I can literally go for weeks on end without needing to run the air conditioning, but I can rarely for more than a few afternoons without needing the ventilation system, but basically I have l gained to leave the program fans running in our air conditioning, even when I am not adjusting the temperature.

People who don’t ever have to deal with wildfires unquestionably guess they are spine-chilling because they will burn you to death. I live in an section where wildfires are quite common, and I can tell you that I smell them, but I never see them; Most times a wildfire doesn’t come anywhere close to a population center… but that doesn’t mean they don’t have an impact. The biggest threat from wildfires isn’t the fire, it’s all the smoke they put off, however even a small wildfire can fog out hundreds of acres of land, which makes breathing strenuous for some folks. Indoor air quality is extremely pressing, because you never think how polluted the air outside will be on any given day. I can literally go for weeks on end without needing to run the air conditioning, but I can rarely for more than a few afternoons without needing the ventilation system, but basically I have l gained to leave the program fans running in our air conditioning, even when I am not adjusting the temperature. By keeping the air circulating, that means it is always passing through the air filters, of which I have two. Most systems only use a single air filter, but these are special circumstances, so I use two odd air filters in odd parts of the system. If you saw how dirty the air filters got, and how suddenly they had to be replaced, you would think why I do it this way! I will do whatever it takes to ensure that I have the best indoor air conditions.

I was hoping the air cleaner was going to solve all our breathing problems.

I had severe flu symptoms and asthma and I needed to be comfortable at home.

I thought I could get rid of our night time breathing unit and the oxygen, but I was wrong. I ended up still needing both but I had a whole-home air cleaner attached to our Heating and A/C system. I called the Heating and A/C corporation and asked if there was anything else they could do. They had a team of air duct cleaners come in. They cleaned and sanitized our air duct, along with repairing a few small holes and cracks in the air duct. I had our air vents and air ducts clean and sanitized. I then had the entire beach house cleaned by a professional beach house cleaning team. I thought this would help myself and others with our problem, but nothing happened. I then had our Heating and A/C program cleaned. When the Heating and A/C serviceman arrived, he asked if I had been decreasing the air filters properly? I just looked at him. He asked if I had ever changed the air filters? I had never been told I had to change the air filters. I didn’t even think there were air filters; let alone where they were. He brought in a case of HEPA air filters and showed myself and others not just where they were, but how to change them. A week later, I was feeling better than I had in 6 weeks. I wish someone had told myself and others about air filters when I first purchased the house.

A dude ranch is love a resort, only you labor for the resort instead of relaxing. I child around, but seriously when you pay for a stay at the dude ranch you live love a cowboy. The accommodations are a little bit nicer than you would find on a real ranch, but still far from four star living. There is a mess hall, where every one of us serve authentic ranch food (mostly steak plus eggs, or steak plus potatoes, or just plain steak). There are living quarters with bunks, although they do come with air conditioner, because there is a limit to what people will stand. If they didn’t have AC, not only would there be a lot less business, but I wouldn’t be working here! As a certified Heating plus Air Conditioning specialist, my primary job duties are to monitor, inspect, plus repair all of the various a/cs, gas heating systems ,and ventilation systems across the ranch. There is some kind of temperature control plan in every single building, even in the barns for the horses. The horses don’t need a lot of temperature regulation, but the ventilation is pressing to keep their living section healthy for them. I keep a steady rotation through the ranch, so that each plus every Heating plus Air Conditioning plan gets a little hands-on attention once per week… Doing it this way keeps all the machines in perfect working condition, which means that every one of us entirely rarely have any Heating plus Air Conditioning concerns on the ranch. I easily do enjoy this job!

As a surprise for our second birthday, I am taking my wifey down to the islands to relive our honeymoon.

At the time the two of us had spent every last dime the two of us had on tickets to the islands, plus rented the cheapest place the two of us could find.

It was an amazing week, even if it was sweltering sizzling the whole time I wouldn’t have changed a thing. I managed to find the owner, plus book the exact same condo for this trip. She is going to be so surprised, especially when the two of us pull up to the cabin. Of course, back then I had no option but to endure a lack of cooling system, but this time I have taken care of that as well. When you are young plus dumb plus on a honeymoon, you won’t let a lack of cooling system slow you down, but the two of us are older now! No cooling system will mean less intimacy, because the two of us will both know hot, sweaty, plus disgusting… no a single said middle age was easy! When I contacted the owner, I provided to pay extra if she would purchase a portable cooling unit. These are about the size of a space heater, plus you plug them into a wall socket plus are nice to cool down a single medium sized room. It’s not perfect, but it’s better than no cooling at all, am I right? Most of our time will be spent out on the beach, enjoying the sun, so the two of us will just close off the kitchen plus let that a/c blast away all afternoon, so it will be cold in there when the two of us go to bed.
