The lockdown has been very difficult on almost everybody, plus I don’t want to trivialize that.

But for myself and others personally, it has given myself and others a ton of extra time to task on my passions, however I still work, of course, however there are a good 6 or 7 hours per week I spent driving around that is in the past.

I am more relaxed, more locked in, plus able to very pour the time plus attention I want into my podcast! Fortunately my passion, podcasting, is something I can do without ever going outside or dealing with anyone face to face. To keep my show fresh I regularly have different HVAC experts on for interviews plus Q plus A sessions, however this is the type of thing that I can do over Skype, Zoom, or even Facetime! My show is all about heating plus cooling systems, despite the fact that the topics shift according to the season; As you would imagine, while in the Spring plus summer time the people I was with and I tend to focus more on the air conditioner side of things, offering people tips plus tricks for their home systems! During the last few weeks of fall plus into the Winter most of our listener submitted questions are about heating systems, so that’s where the people I was with and I put our focus. It is actually easier than ever to line up interesting HVAC professionals for the show these days, because it seems to me like everyone has more time on their hands. They care about going on my show because I know HVAC systems very well, the people I was with and I can discuss them intelligently, plus in the process they get a little free advertising for their businesses.

I was having some serious temperature issues in my dining room.

It was like the air flow from the central heating and air conditioning system was not flowing through the room properly.

It would always be too hot or too cold. So I finally found an answer to this. And that was to invest in a new type of HVAC system called a zoned heating and air conditioning system. Zoned heating and air conditioning systems are also simply known HVAC zone control. And what these nifty pieces of HVAC technology do is make it so you can have different thermostats in every single room of your house controlling the temperatures in just that one specific room. Think of it as having several central heating and air conditioning systems within the same central heating and air conditioning system. It is that amazing, but it’s very true. I got a zoned heating and air conditioning system for my home and ever since then, my dining room has finally been perfect temperature as it should have been from the start! The local heating and cooling repair company is who suggested getting a zoned heating and air conditioning system in the first place. The HVAC system that I had was fine, but it wasn’t powerful enough to generate even temperatures throughout my home because of the way it’s built. So the zoned heating and air conditioning system finally took care of this ongoing issue I had been having. I am totally happy with my new HVAC zone control.

I am way out of date let me tell you.

And I thought it was time that I at least start changing that as much as I possibly can.

The first thing on my list was to start out small, and that was updating my thermostat. I have a very old dial thermostat that has to be at least 30 years old or more. I catch a lot of flack from people who come and visit me about it. They think i’m ultra lazy or just too old fashioned. So I am going to prove them wrong right now! I am going to go out and get an upgrade to a digital thermostat. Yes, that’s right. Just a regular digital thermostat. I could go with a smart thermostat, but those things are a bit too advanced for my liking. A digital thermostat is modern enough and it’s simple enough to use as well. I do not have to mess with any fancy applications or gadgets. Just a good old fashioned thermostat that is digital and will work a lot better. That’s a very small upgrade, but it will be a start in the right direction to getting a little more with the times as many of my friends and family suggested I do. Ordinarily I would just ignore them and not care what they think. But when it comes to some technology, it really is better. Like in the case of thermostats. Dial thermostats can break down a lot easier than a digital thermostat. Also, with a digital thermostat I can set the controls exact.

I was always happy and felt lucky to have been able to afford and buy a geothermal heat pump to heat my home.

However, what I did not think about or realise was that if the geothermal heat pump ever broke down, the repair costs from the HVAC company was going to be pretty high in price. Well, it finally happened to me where my geothermal heat pump broke down. And because of this event happening, I had to call the local heating and air conditioning company to send out one of their certified heating and cooling specialists to fix the geothermal heat pump that sits mounted in my backyard. I was not looking forward to getting the HVAC repair bill from the heating and air conditioning corporation for the repairs that were about to take place. The heating and air conditioning specialist from the local HVAC repair company was at my home fixing the geothermal heat pump for several hours. And knowing that most HVAC repair companies charge by the hour, I was getting more and more worried about what this final HVAC repair bill was going to look like when all was said and done. Well, when I got the geothermal heat pump finally fixed and got the bill from the local HVAC repair company, it was not as bad as I was thinking, but it was still very expensive compared to a regular central heating and air conditioning repair bill! I hope my geothermal heat pump does not break again anytime soon.

There are so many mysteries in life let me tell you.

Everything from how the world was actually created scientifically to the wonders of where certain things came from.

One of those things is heating and air conditioning. Have you ever wondered how the actual concept of central heating and air conditioning systems came about? I know I have. Without heating and air conditioning in most places in the world, it is very tough to get along. I actually looked into the history of heating and air conditioning to see if I could find more information on the wonders of heating and cooling products. However, I could never find any straight answers. What I did find out was that the first official heating device was a steam boiler. They had steam boilers going back to the beginning of normal times as far as I could tell. I could not find much information on any kind of air conditioning. What I do know on my own though, is that central air conditioning came about sometime in the 1960’s, at least that’s what i read somewhere. Heating and air conditioning is a mystery that it seems we will never know the real straight forward answer to. The way it stands now, heating and air conditioning technology keeps on advancing no matter what. It always looks like there is some kind of new heating or air conditioning product on the market at least once a year. Where it will go next, we do not know. But I know I will keep looking for more information on heating and air conditioning!

 

 

Cooling technician

From the time that my girlfriend moved into my home about three months ago until now I have been really struggling.

When it comes to just living with her pretty much everything has been fine, but the biggest problem I have is just how annoying her dog is.

Prior to my girlfriend officially moving in we argued for many days before I finally agreed to let him come along with her. Don’t get me wrong I love all animals, but this dog is just the biggest headache. After only a few days of moving into my place this dog ended up marking his territory on my portable heating and cooling system that I had in my garage to keep the temperature down while I workout. Without my portable heating and cooling system it is pretty much impossible to get through a workout without feeling like I am going to have a heat stroke. Along with being extremely important to me, this heating and cooling system was a gift given to me by my grandfather and had a great deal of value to me. If my friend or one of my roommates had destroyed my recently purchased air conditioning unit I would simply ask them to help me buy a new one or have them do some type of favor to repay me, but with this damn dog there isn’t anything I can do other than deal with it. I love my girlfriend so much, but if this dog is in the picture for the next ten years or so then I am not sure if it is going to work out.

While my wife and I were on vacation last year we ended up getting some free tickets to be audience members for one of our favorite night shows.

While we had left on this vacation without knowing that this would be something we would be doing we were extremely excited about this once the time came.

Unfortunately however, this exciting night ended up being quite miserable. It all started when we were forced to stand in a long line outside waiting to be let into the venue. It was a very chilly December evening and with no form of heating other than rubbing our hands together we were freezing our butts off. Surprisingly things didn’t get any better when we got inside. From a message that was given to us inside the building was having some difficulties with their HVAC system and there would be no working heating during the taping. They offered those who weren’t comfortable with this to leave, but considering the fact that we had just spent the last hour and a half standing outside we decided to try and tough it out. Since everyone was extremely cold and uncomfortable we weren’t able to provide the “energy” that the show was looking for which led to some frustration on both sides. Instead of being sad when the taping ended my wife and I were so excited because it meant we could head back to the hotel, turn the heating in the room to its highest setting, and order some pizza. I guess it will be cool to look back on twenty years and say that we did it, but there is no doubt that we will never be doing something like that again on our future vacations.

I am selling my house because of heating issues.

I am sick and tired of being cold all winter long in the house that I am living in.

I bought this house about three years ago, and I did not realize that the house had heating issues. It is a really old house, and I assume that is why I am having so many heating issues. The windows are old, and someone told me that they don’t think my house has much insulation, and that would definitely add to the heat loss. I love the house so much, and it makes me so sad to have to part with this beautiful old house, but I really don’t want to be cold anymore. I am naturally a cold person, and I have trouble staying warm no matter where I am in the wintertime, and I definitely don’t need a house that is cold on top of that. I found a smaller, much newer house, and I think the owners are going to accept my offer on it. I am putting this house up for sale no matter what. I would rather live in an apartment with adequate heat than freeze in this house one more winter. I know that winter is still a while away, but I want to make sure that I am in a nice warm house before winter hits. My dad suggested that I get a new furnace for the house that I am in now and see if that helps, but I don’t want to waste the money. If the new furnace does not help, then I would be out thousands of dollars. I don’t think a new furnace would solve the problem anyways. Moving is my best option.
